    The Yangtze River is very important because it directly affects the economy of China.

    Explanation:

    The Yangtze River supports China's economy because of its rich and fertile soils and also serves as a critical transportation route within the country. The Yangtze is also very famous because it is the longest river among the rives of Asia, third position in world and again first in the world to flow within one country. For thousands of years, Yangtze river has been in use for the purpose like irrigation, transportation, boundary-marking and war. The Yangtze River Delta contributes in 20% of the China's GDP.

    Farmers that lived along the Yangtze River took advantage of the warm climate and rainy weather to grow rice. Eventually the land along the Yangtze became some of the most important and wealthy land in all of Ancient China.

    The Yangtze also served as a boundary between northern and southern China. It is very wide and difficult to cross. The famous Battle of Red Cliffs took place along the river.
