A hurricane is centered directly over the eastern coastline of the Florida peninsula, moving south to north. You live in a town along the path of the hurricane.

Where will the eye of the hurricane be located when your town experiences the strongest winds and highest storm surge - to the north of, to the south of, or directly over, your town?
