There are many factors which affect the climate of a place. The most notable of which are the distance from the equator (or a location's latitude), the distance from the sea or ocean, the ocean or sea currents near a place, the direction of the prevailing winds, and the topography or "shape" of the landscape are a few of the major factors which affect climate.
