Most of the Latin American countries had at least one civil war in the past, some having more though. The reasons for the unrest and the civil wars after the Latin American countries gained independence are numerous. Some of the biggest reasons are bad economic conditions, terrible politics, tyranny and dictatorship, safety issues, will for reforms and prosper.

Most of these conflicts were building on for some time before they started, but they all began after a leader appeared that was leading the people in the civil war/revolution. Some of the best known leaders of the civil wars in Latin America are Fidel Castro, Bolivar, Che Guevara, all of which had communist ideals.
