I'm reading an excerpt from "On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres" by Nicolaus Copernicus and it's just explaining his idea of a heliocentric universe. The question I have to answer is, "Why might one say that European astronomers finally destroyed the Middle Ages?"

    The astronomers provided a new way of looking at things through exploration. Their example was followed by others who soon began exploring, leading the world into the Renaissance.
