Both independent and dependent variables are important within any experiment but they play very different roles. Independent variables are those which are controlled by the scientist and change as a result of this, where as dependent variables are those that show the result of these changes and are measured

    Explanation:

Control variables: the items that are not turning. Independent variables: the things that you change. Dependent variables: the things that are altered due to the sovereign variable

The independent variable in a controlled experiment is what you are becoming (for example, amount of water or sunlight a plant gets). The dependent variable shifts because of the independent variable. It is the result of the independent variable.
