When there is an earth quake in a mountain environment do the mountains get bigger or smaller in height?

The mountain will become smaller after an earthquake

It depends on how small or huge the power of the earthquake is. I want to think they get smaller because force of earthquakes can bring buildings down. The strength of it could be able to bring mountains it to a smaller size.
