There are several indicators which are utilized for good water quality. When considering PH, ideal levels need to be between 6.5 and 9.0. Dissolved oxygen also needs to be high in order to allow animals to breath. Ideally the answer would be extremely low amounts of fecal coliform. Although there may be some present, low levels is considered to be an acceptable level.
