Climate refers to the temperature and moisture condition of an are over time. Climate is one of the five factors which form the soil and it has a significant influence on soil. Soil which are in warmer or wetter areas are more developed than the soil which are in cooler or drier climates.

Climate also wears away the parent rocks, transporting them and redopisiting them in the soil by influencing the speed of chemical reactions. Rainfall is one of the most important factor in the formation of soil.
