Identify the five main elements that determine an area's climate, and give a brief description of each element.

1. Landforms in the area - depends on the land formation how high or low is your location that climate might affect you.

2. Latitude - distance from N or S pole

3. Wind - depends on the movement of the air.

4. Humidity - depends on the amount of water vapor in the air

5. Elevation - depends the distance of of the location from sea level.

The five main elements that determine the climate are:

1. Landforms in the area; the landforms in the area can affect the humidity, the exposure to sun, the winds and the types of winds that will be present, increase or decrease the precipitation.

2. Elevation; the elevation mostly affects the temperature because the higher you go the less dense the air is, which means that there's less particles and the temperature slowly decreases as you go higher and higher.

3. Latitude; the latitude determines the distance from the Equator, so the closer a given area it is to the Equator the bigger the temperature, the further away it is the lower the temperature. This is due to the shape of the Earth and the angle by which the sunlight falls on the surface.

4. Humidity; the humidity depends on the amount of water vapor in the air, and it predominantly affects the temperature and precipitation, the higher the humidity the higher the precipitation (with certain exceptions).

5. Wind; the wind affects the temperature and precipitation, different types of winds bring different climate conditions, if they are cold and dry than the temperature will be low and the precipitation will be low as well, but if they are warm and humid than they will bring higher temperatures and higher precipitation. The movement of the winds depends a lot of the landforms in the area.
