Lager populations cause an increase in the amount of agriculture needed to satisfy the population. This also causes deforestation, which is destroying areas where crops were usually planted in order to make room for larger populations. This means the agriculture has to be grown in abundance and with less amount of land available.

For larger populations, you need more agriculture. Thefore, the agriculture industry has to work even harder to provide.
