    Little brother needs to grow 48 - 42 inches = 6 inches

    Explanation:

Minimum height to ride roller coaster is 48 inches

    Litlle brother's height is 3 feet 6 inches = 3 x 12 inches + 6inches (1 foot = 12 inches)

    - 36 + 6 inches = 42 inches

    Little brother needs to grow 48 - 42 inches = 6 inches
