    D. They receive the same number of daylight hours over the course of a year

    Explanation:

The planet Earth has circular shape, as well as thick atmosphere, and that contributes to lot of differences from one region to another region on the planet. The tilting of the planet too has a big influence on how things are distributed over the planet. One thing that all places on the planet have in common though is that they all receive the same amount of daylight hours throughout the year. Even though it doesn't happen in the same manner everywhere, the end result is the same with the daylight hours. The equatorial region is the most exposed to the sun throughout the year, and it has relatively stable length of the day and night. On the other hand, the poles have daylight in half of the year, and then night in the other half of the year, while the mid-latitudes have longer days March and September and shorter between September and March (on the Northern Hemisphere, it is reversed on the Southern Hemisphere). Anyway, getting the daylight in relatively same amount every day, or getting it all at ones, all the places on the planet have daylight that totals half of the year, and night that totals half of the year.
