D Rapid population growth can result in using too much resources. The more people there are, the more food and water is required and the more housing is also required and the more automobiles and public transit is required for example. This can result in more intensive agriculture to meet the food needs and also promote trade ie as in Canada exporting wheat to China to feed the rapidly growing population of well over a billion people there. Water resources are also affected especially as more fast food places develop and cattle beef require a lot of water to grow them and this puts a strain on these resources. On the other hand, hoarding can be used by unscrupulous capitalists to drive up the price of goods by creating artificial scarcities. On the other hand, when there is more people, there is also more chance of ingenuity and innovation because people are not just a liability but are also an asset and when they work together they can come up with more creative solutions to problems like global warming.
