The horizontal components have the latitudes, while the vertical component are located in the longitudes. The similarity is that they both work together to cause ocean currents, and also they cause cold wind currents, and also warm wind currents in different places.

The similarities between the horizontal and vertical components of global wind are that they both are the cause for the ocean current. These components are also responsible for the cold wind currents and warm wind currents in various regions.

    Explanation:

Horizontal components of global winds are the mixture of Earth's rotation and the vertical currents. This change along the altitude. These are formed as weather fronts and near coastal lines.

The vertical winds are basically thermals that are similar to the updrafts which is moving of air or cloud due to sudden force. This change along the lateral position. These components have effect on thermal cyclone and thunderstorm.
