The Santa Ana winds are strong, extremely dry down-slope winds that originate inland and affect coastal Southern California and northern Baja California.
Because of how hot, dry and strong they are there is a high fire danger and does damage property and cause enhance turbulence levels and low-level wind shear for aircrafts.
