The kidney increases the salt and water balance in the blood. These are organs that are bean-shaped which extract wastes from the blood. It balances body fluids, forms urine, and regulates sugar in the body. They are found at the back muscles in the upper abdominal cavity sitting opposite each other on either side of the spine. Acute kidney failure is a disease of the kidneys which causes it to lose its regular functions due to infections or blood-clotting disorders.
