    d) continental hot-spot eruption

    Explanation:

The Yellowstone Caldera is the largest caldera in the world. It is often referred to as a supervolcano. This volcano is located in the northwestern part of the United States, bellow the Yellowstone National Park. For the formation of the Yellowstone Caldera is responsible the hot-spot bellow this part of the North American plate. This hot spot manages to push magma through the continental crust, thus creating a hot-spot volcano on the land. As the North American plate moves, it manages to stretch the caldera bit by bit, making it larger on area. There's lot of fears about this volcano, as it is believed that an explosion of it can have big global negative effects.
