How do the major waterways of SE Asia affect population distribution?

    Asia is the largest continent and it covers approximately 30 percent of the Earth's land area. It is also the world's most populous continent with roughly 60 percent of the total population.

    Southeast Asia comprises of Eleven countries which are Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, East Timor, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand and Vietnam.

    Population distribution is described as the pattern of where people live which could be sparsely or densely populated.

    Major waterways of SE Asia ensures there is movement of inhabitants to other Super power countries to seek for more opportunities. Water transportation is cheaper than air and is usually preferable due to its low cost. This usually makes the region sparsely populated and make the Super power countries densely populated.
