Why have the Atlantic Provinces developed differently than the Northwest territories?

    The Atlantic Provinces have developed differently than the Northwest territories, because a) the Atlantic Provinces have a more temperate climate and are suitable for fishing. Atlantic Canada is defined as "the region of Canada comprising the four provinces located on the Atlantic coast, excluding Quebec: the three Maritime provinces-New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia-and the easternmost province of Newfoundland and Labrador."
