I understand this question to mean "local diversity of human culture" (and not, for example, local biological diversity).

Local diversity can mean for example different food - different areas have their own food specialties).

It can also mean the customs and religions - for example how people eat (fork, chopstics, hands, etc).

Another example is the clothing, for example in India many women wear Saris, while in Europe women wear skirts or trousers.

Local diversity refers to the unique cultural traditions and economic practices in a small local area. It is the opposite term of globalization (spread of culture through the entire world). Each local area has its own history, cultures, architecture, land use patterns, economy, ambience and style and these are examples for local diversity.
