Afforestation is the process of replanting trees in an area where trees have been removed. The upper course refers to the region of the course of the river that is close to the source or the beginning of the river. Trees contribute to water vapor in the atmosphere via the process of evapo-transpiration. This may increase rainfall. Replanting trees in the upper course will also reduce soil erosion.
