The protagonist is a term used to describe the main character of a narrative. In this way, the protagonist in a story is a person who makes important decisions and encounters the outcomes of those decisions. He is the prime agent impelling the narrative forward and is usually the character who suffers the most notable impediments. If a narrative has a subplot or if a big story is made up of some small stories, there may be more protagonist for each story.
