In 2010, scientists did a reanalysis of the old Apollo seismic data and looked into the moon quakes (earthquakes on the moon) and discovered the Moon has an iron core with a radius of 330 ± 20 km. The same reanalysis gave evidence that the inner core of the moon was solid and was made of iron that has the radius of 240 ± 10 km. The core is surrounded by the somewhat melted layer of the lower mantle with a radius of 480 ± 20 km. The temperature inside the core has been estimated to be about 1600 to1700 K. (In other words 2420.33 to 2600.33 F)
