The Earth was formed through rock smashing and it created a molten ball. So if you look at the first two choices, they do not begin with that so we can rule choices A and B out.

Because the Earth was molten and due to frequent collisions, volcanism was extreme. Water vapor entered the atmosphere from volcanoes. It took a long time for the Earth to cool, which eventually became crust.

Now we can rule out letter C, because volcanism comes before the cooling.

    The answer is then:

    D. Rocks smashing to create molten ball, water vapor entered the atmosphere from volcanoes, cooling period forming crust, rain for millions of years forming the oceans.
