The laminated glass is a type of glass in which a layer of plastic or polyvinyl butyral is present in between the two sheets of glass. The glass as well as the plastic or polyvinyl butyral sheets are sealed by the pressure roller and heated.

The laminated glass can break and punctured due to the application of external impact, but the broken glass pieces remain intact to the plastic sheet or polyvinyl butyral. Thus it can be considered a kind of safety glass.

In automobiles these are used in the windshields, front and rare windows. As these glasses remain intact after impact or collision with the other vehicle these are useful for safety of the driver and riders against the injuries.
