Deserts are only found near the equator. true or false

    The definition of a desert is hot hot temperatures - although those are found in the most typical deserts, such as Sahara. Deserts, per definition are places with very little precipitation (rain) : so the statement is false, as there are places with little precipitation away from the equators.

    For example, Antarctica is a desert!
