    The large cities of the Prairie Provinces developed during the late 1800's. The big influx of new migrants, and the attractive policies of the government lured people into this parts and they settled with the hope of starting a new better life. In a very short period of time, the prairies were flooded with people, and hundreds of tows started to form and almost immediately were becoming functional, and some of this early tows were the basis for the growth of the big cities we see today in this part of the continent.
