Why is human-environment interaction an important part of geography?

    This is because human activities (also referred to anthropological activities) do shape the earth's surface. Activities such as mining change the geography of a landscape and also causes a change in the ecosystem of the region. On the other hand, concerted efforts by humans to conserve the environment, such as through protecting game reserves and animal corridors, also affect the geography of the region, positively.
