Why do you usually find volcanoes near subduction zones?

    Volcanoes appear at places and locations that are similar because the characteristics of the plate movements and land conditions effect the chances. Imagine it like a plant, a plant grows more in expensive soil and with better water with more consistent watering rates, this compared to a cheap kept plant.
