Adapting to the environment means developing in oneself the necessary physical features, bodily resistance and immunity required to survive and thrive in a certain kind of environment.

    Explanation:

The ability to adapt to an environment allows living beings to live and develop themselves in a given environment.

Following are a few examples of adapting to the environment: Native Nepalese Sherpas have managed to adapt themselves to survive in high altitude regions where the availability of oxygen is very low. The animal species like Arctic Fox and Muskox have adapted themselves to the cold tundra climates due to the development of thick fur coats on their bodies. Different species of snakes found in various Deserts of the world have adapted themselves physically to blend in with the surrounding in order to avoid coming in the eyes of their predators.
