    Over the years, there have been several migrant groups that have populated the Guiana's. In the ultra peripheral region, more than 37% of the population is immigrants. The main migrant groups come from Haiti, Surinam, and Brazil. These migrant groups have been coming for more than 3 centuries to the Guianas. The people from Surinam are the largest migrant group that make up 31% of the migrant population.
