Workers were able to live farther from their jobs, this explains how the increased popularity of the automobile encouraged the growth of suburbs.

    Explanation:

Suburbs are regions far from the crowded and populated towns and cities. The development of suburbs took place because automobiles made it easy for workers to go to the offices or factories that were located far from where they lived. The ease of travelling to work increased the popularity of automobiles. Also workers were ready to travel any distance for work which further led to the development of suburb regions.
