The Aztecs where given the rights to settle where they did and after that conquer whom they did by their gods.

    Explanation:

The Aztecs were a group of people consisted of several different ethnic groups. This group migrated into central Mexico from the northern part of Mexico. Initially they had lot of problems as they were often not allowed to settle somewhere or forced to leave a place. This changed when their gods sent them a vision of an eagle on a cactus eating a snake, which was actually the place meant for them to settle in.

The Aztecs did so and they settled in a swampy area where they saw in person an eagle on a cactus eating a snake. The area was not desired by other people groups so they were not disturbed. They found it hard until they managed to sort and properly establish their own city-state but once they did there was no stopping in its progress.

The Aztec gods were a bloodthirsty warlike ones and they were telling the Aztecs to go on and destroy the people that were treating them terribly before and that resulted in wars. The wars were won by the Aztecs and they started to expand. The gods were not satisfied with this though and they wanted them to continue with the brutal military conquests and so the Aztecs did, attacking, massacring, and brutally ruling over other people.
