    As it has been proven fact that mountain ranges and chain blocks the winds coming from the other side and hence create a rain shadow effect which then further leads to the rainfall on the windward side and the other leeward side remains high and dry. The mountains like Everest block the cold winds coming from the polar side and protects the country from harmful effects of severe winter it also acts as a reservoir of beauty and a natural barrier. Due to the altitude, aspect of relief and sloping angles to the sun, the mountain ecosystem is a sensitive ecological zone. Because the top of the mountain is cool the warm air ascents from below and cold air descent this leads to the formation of two fronts. The impact of cloud formation of any place is also controlled by them. Also with the rising global warming and heat melting of the mountain snow adds to the water levels in lakes, oceans and streams thus depleting the freshwater reserves and contributing to global sea-level rise.
