The state of Alaska has more square mileage than any other U. S. state but is one of the least populated in the country. What is the most probable reason for Alaska's low population?

-Its climate and geography do not offer the ideal environment for large populations.

-Most U. S. citizens do not wish to settle in an area with large concentrations of mosquitoes.

-People wish to preserve Alaska's natural beauty and do not want to ruin it by permanently settling there.

-There is no water source near enough to Alaska to support a large human population.
