    Explanation:

    While slope process is a cause of deformation of building the reason this is happening is due to the change of the water in the groundwater storage. Mexico City is built on mainly clay bedrock. As the was infiltrates into the ground and percolates into the ground occupies pore in the clay. The groundwater storage can then be depleted by water flowing over the impermeable surface and out of the city or by being pumped to the surface. In doing so the rock pores that were occupied by water now has air. It can become brittle and collapse and deform. The buildings above will move with the deformed land below it.
