The correct answer is - Human activities can either increase or decrease erosion.

The humans with their activities can be either the reason for increased erosion, or be the one that protect the soil and decrease the erosion. Very often the humans are clearing out the vegetation for their own needs, and in those situations they contribute to increased erosion because the soil is left without its natural cover and protection. On the other hand, on places that are very steep, or are barren lands, the humans plant vegetation and are also flattening the land. By flattening the land the erosion is decreasing significantly as it is the most active at places that are under an angle, and the planting of vegetation also prevents the erosion because the roots of the vegetation hold the soil tight and strong.
