The terrestrial line of the equator crosses from West to East: 3 American countries (Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil), 7 African countries (Sao Tome and Principe, Gabon, Congo, Democratic Congo, Uganda, Kenya and Somalia), 2 Asian countries (Maldives and Indonesia) and 1 oceanic country (Kiribati). In total, 13 countries, and the 5 that are located north of the equator are Colombia, Somalia, Kenya, Maldives, and Uganda.
