    It is a fault zone with about 41 earthquakes in the last 10,000 these earthquakes have occured years as far between 190 years to as much as 1200 years apart. Evidence of this great earthquake also came from Japan. The earthquake that caused Cascadia subduction also caused the coastline to drop several feet and a tsunami to form and crash into the land.
