    The difference between physical and human geography In general, one examines the characteristics of various people and the other examines the physical characteristics of the Earth. Physical geography examines the characteristics of the planet, including, but not limited to, rock formations, the land and water formations; and Human Geography is a branch of geography which looks at the ways humans have influenced or been influenced by the landscape, including structures built and human evolution.
