Astronomers claim to have a reasonable model for interior structure of Jupiter. What is the observational basis for this model? Does it make any predictions that have been put to observational tests? How is the interior structure of the Earth known (review Chapter 7 if necessary) ? Do you think the interior structure of Jupiter is more or less well-tested than that of the interior structure of the Earth? Explain.

Observational basis for the astronomical model of Internal structure of Jupiter are designed to fit the observed physical data of Jupiter, such as its mass, radius, gravitational and magnetic field, 1-bar temperature, atmospheric composition, and internal rotation

Although, these Jupiter internal structure models/predictions are yet to be put to observational tests, However, there are some theoretical explanation and consistencies

Interior structure of the earth is known through the study of the seismic waves from the earthquakes that pass throughout the earth surface

Interior structure of Jupiter is less well-tested than that of the interior structure of the Earth because the internal structure was tested and observed by the study of seismic waves of earthquakes that passed throughout the earth surface. Such was not investigated in the Jupiter. Any astrological knowledge from Jupiter was from measuring instruments from the earth's surface.
