In Inca society, the Sapa Inca served as the Emperor.

    Explanation:

The Incas were originally a small tribe. They later established their control over the regions occupied by present-day Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, and northwest Argentina. The Sapa Inca was the crowned Emperor of the Incas. The term Sapa Inca meant the most unique of all the Incas. The Incas way of governance involved a hierarchy which had the Sapa Inca at the top, a fraternity of nobles below Sapa Inca, a fraternity of other inferior men below the nobles and at last the Curacas (men trained to carry out routine administration).
