Explanation:
Helena has been the capital of Montana Territory since 1875 and the state of Montana since 1889. In 1902 the Montana State Capitol was completed. A large portion of the conflict between Marcus Daly and William Andrews Clark (the Copper Kings) was over the location of the state capital.
