actual ground distance = 6 km

    Explanation:

    given data

scale of the map = 2 cm to 1 km

    scale of the map = 1 : 50000

    map distance = 12 cm

    solution

we know map distance i. e 12 cm

    and we have given

    2 cm = 1 km

it mean 1 cm will be

    1 cm = 0.5 km

so we get here 12 cm distance that is

    actual ground distance = 12 cm * 0.5 km

actual ground distance = 6 km
