    Mountains that form when large areas of earth gradually move skyward as a unit is called uplift or tectonic uplift. It usually happens when a tectonic plate’s move, some of the mountains that is under the water is being uplifted to the ground. Sometimes, this uplifting of tectonic plates is the reason why there are mountains or Island that is no longer visible in the map of the world or there are new islands being discovered. Most of the island is called coral island, an island that stayed under water and was being uplifted.
