An endothermic reaction happens when the system absorbs energy from the surroundings, in the form of heat. An increase in energy most likely means the temperature of the predicts will be greater than the temperature of the reactants.

Exothermic reaction: The system gives off energy to its surroundings, it loses heat during the reaction. Therefore, the products will most likely have a lower temperature than the reactants.
