    The Inca Empire was located in South America and spanned parts of modern day Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. The empire began in the highlands of Peru and spanned large swaths or rugged regions of mountains, forests, and rain forests. The most important geographic region of the Incan Empire was the Andean Mountain Range that is in modern day Chile today.
