    No, they're not exactly the same, but the difference my be a subtle one.

    The result of warming is that things get warmer. The impact of warming

    is the change that it brings in things that depend on temperature.

    Results:

    - - The average temperature of the air increases.

    - - The average temperature of the oceans increases.

    - - The polar ice caps partially or completely melt.

    - - The mean sea level rises.

    Impacts:

    - - Deserts grow in area.

    - - Plant and tree species spread farther away from the equator.

    - - Some of today's prime farm land becomes barren.

    - - The supply of fresh water on Earth is reduced.

    - - The average energy in storms is increased.

    - - Some of today's coastal land becomes gone.
