    He created a new party, the Democratic Party (still used today). He also gave much more power to the commoners rather than the rich and well born, turning the US into the democracy it is today, equal rights for everyone.

    Andrew jackson changed the presidency by shifting the base of political power from its stronghold in the east to the western frontier of Tennessee. Also, unlike previous presidents, he didnot defer to Congress in policy making, but used his party leadership and presidential veto to maintain absolute power.
